Rough and Tough Start

Not sure if there is anything worse than lying on a hospital surgical bed and listening to the nurse off to my left talking about an APGAR score of 5 and not hearing your baby cry. Sara ended up in the NICU for four days with respitory distress. She had a C-Pap and then was intubated for 12 hours. Her blood glucose didn't level off very quickly so they also had her on an IV, which eventually ended up in her umbilical cord because they couldn't find another spot. Next she developed a little jaundice and was put under lights. After all that, however, she was able to be released with me and has been doing fabulous ever since!!

That is scary. Nathan's was similar, a 3 or 4 at one minute. Scary to see the little white body, no cry, nothing. Good thing for blessings or I wouldn't have made it through that. Glad everything turned out so well!
